The Pipeline Technician is responsible for monitoring the operational status of all PGE pipelines & supporting compliance with regulatory agencies.  The Technician is responsible for safely & accurately operating pipeline inspection equipment.  In addition, the Technician will assist with developing & following written operating procedures for the pipeline equipment and transmitting the information to appropriate parties.

Responsible for the inspect and maintenance of existing PGE pipelines, which includes the following:
• Ensures the safety of operations in and around existing pipelines, as well as during the construction phases of new pipelines
• Responsible for inspecting pipelines using specialized equipment and in remote areas and transferring collected data to engineering, operations, facilities and construction
• Responsible to walk the pipelines and perform visual inspection and audits of pipeline right-of-ways for environmental, as well as safety findings and prepares reports of said findings
• Tests station and rectifier readings on the pipeline
• Responsible to make recommendations as a result of diagnosis and evaluation of operations (experience in Smart Pig and close interval surveys a plus)
• Provides recommendations to management regarding options/solutions for pipeline maintenance issue, sand supports and DOT regulatory compliance

Responsible for assisting the Supervisor/and Manager with the construction of new pipelines, including:

• coordination of design, permitting and adherence to safety parameters
• engaging necessary resources to meet deadlines
• following documented  procedures for ROW excavation
• provide necessary on-site supervision during construction and start-up phases

Other responsibilities include:

• Provide cathodic protection technical support
• Support Manager with DOT & PUC regulatory compliance
• Serves as a member of Operation and Maintenance written program team
• Represents the company when communicating with state personnel, property owners and outside contractors
• Responsible to cover broad geographic territories within development areas

• Familiar with overall gas and oil industry and/or pipeline industry practices
• 1-2 years of related industry experience, leak detection and pipeline operations experience preferred
• Must become certified in cathodic protection and corrosion and willingness to participate in continuing education
• Understanding of facilities and pipeline requirements, map reading and ability to understand water systems and concepts
• Must be able to assist in emergency response efforts and work extended hours as needed, able to carry a cell phone and be available for after hour calls
• Excellent technical skills, mechanical aptitude, and good communication skills (written/verbal)
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and decision-making skills working in a team environment
• Complete familiarity in PC operations.  Skills in spreadsheet programs, Excel is preferred
• Operational & technical experience with gas conditioning & measurement equipment (volumes, quality) is a plus
