Lease Operator I (Lycoming)

The Lease Operator I (reports to Lycoming/Tioga Counties) is responsible to ensure PGE’s operations are compliant with industry regulations, while performing general labor functions to maximize gas production. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)

Conducts operational & analytical work on high pressure gas well locations including but not limited to the following activities.  To complete the following activities the incumbent must be familiar with operating various hand tools, running hydraulic power tools and operating heavy equipment:

  1. Monitoring production (gas and water) rate and pressure trends
  2. Identifying problems with production equipment and completing minor repairs
  3. Timely report operational problems requiring assistance to Supervisor
  4. Plunger lift monitoring, inspection and maintenance
  5. Chemical Injection Set/Adjust pump rate and monitor tank levels
  6. Inspecting/testing dump lines
  7. Rebuilding/replacing separator dump valves
  8. Setting and adjusting pneumatic liquid dump control systems
  9. Testing, setting and rebuilding hydraulic and pneumatic ESD systems
  10. Adjusting/repairing/rebuilding chokes
  11. Purging sand separators
  12. Setting pressure regulators
  13. Monitoring levels on gauge tanks
  14. Operating dehydration systems and indirect heaters
  15. Monitoring/maintaining fluid levels
  16. Understanding fired equipment.  Lighting equipment and adjusting flame
  17. Changing filters
  18. Understanding artificial lift applications

The Lease Operator I is also a “First Level Environmental respondent” whose tasks include but are not limited to the following activities:

  1. Performing field inspections of well sites to ensure compliance and reporting/correcting non-compliance findings in a timely fashion.
  2. Managing and maintaining various environmental documentation, including record retention and tracking of report due dates.
  3. Assisting with implementation and execution of PGE’s environmental programs, policies and procedures.
  4. Responsible for forwarding inspection data to Environmental Supervisor for database entry used for reporting to internal contacts and regulatory compliance agencies.
  5. Work with all departments and operational staff in response to regulatory notices and reports.
  6. Compliance with ICPs and other emergency response duties.
  7. Performing JSA’s as needed
  8. Maintaining weekly operations report for Dispatch.

Education and/or Experience:

  1. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental field is preferred.
  2. 1-2 years of oil/gas experience preferred.
  3. Strong mechanical, math and oral communication skills.
  4. Complete familiarity in PC operations; spreadsheet knowledge preferred.
  5. Good interpersonal abilities for working in a team environment.

Position reports to Lycoming location, with primary assignments in that region and further travel as needed.
