GIS Technician
Summary: Provides support to Geology, Land, Corporate Planning, Operations and other support departments by maintaining data sets, permits, and provides operational notifications as required. Produces maps depicting boundaries representing current lease holds, prospects, and adjacent boundaries held by other operators.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Responsible for PAIRIS/I.H.S. weekly loads to Geographix and generating associated reports
- Responsible for downloads\reporting from EPA for Injection Class II sites and DEP for Other Operator Pending Permits, Spuds, Drilling Completions, Electronic Notifications etc. Also, includes PASDA downloads and the integration of public information into Geographix and ESRI SDE
- Responsible for updating EUR DBs with current DEP production and waste water data. Provide quarterly EUR maps using data supplied by Corporate Planning & Analysis
- Responsible for managing new and expired PGE and Adverse leaseholds.
- Responsible for updating SDE feature datasets and GESX layers with TM bases/ PennDot / Other Operator (wellbores, Pads, Bottom holes, Cum table, Utica, DEP wells)/PGE & XTO JV Leases.
- Responsible for maintaining PGE driving directions to Well Pads, ICP Directions for Hospitals, Waste Water, Trucking and related bonded road maintenance
- Responsible for Area of Review (AOR) analysis for DEP permitting
- Responsible for maintaining Isomap & Isopach contour\fault layers\2D & 3D seismic within Geographix and ArcGIS.
- Responsible for assisting in the testing & implementation of software upgrades for Geographix, ArcGIS ArcMap\ArcPro, Net Deed plotter, Neurolog and other relative Department software suites.
- Responsible for Other Operator Corporate presentations being researched and reported internally.
- Responsible for property boundary deed analysis while utilizing Net Deed Plotter\ESRI’s COGO tools to do so
- GPS – Co-shares loads\corrections with Trimble Pathfinder Office software w GIS Manager. Load results to SDE.
- Responsible for developing maps, analyzing data and creating presentations as requested by other PGE departments either individually or as a part of a team effort
- Responsible to assist GIS Manager with maintaining ESRI Portal Services
Other Tasks: Check websites for presentations. Maintains seismic information within suites of software, reviews and analyzes deed descriptions as needed.
Qualifications
- BS Degree in Geology, Geography, Cartography, Natural Resources, Engineering, GIS or related work experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of geotechnical experience.
- Experience with ESRI software, specifically ArcGIS suite and ESRI extensions. Knowledge of Geographix software suite 2016 or above.
- Strong understanding of GIS and spatial data, and management skills needed to perform job duties.
- Professional technical experience with designing, creating and maintaining geodatabases for a wide range of project types.
- Strong leadership, mentoring and team-building skills
- Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills
