Operations Maintenance Supervisor    

Summary: The Operations Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the operation and maintenance of natural gas compressors.  This position is responsible for the safe reliable operation of compressor and working with the operation midstream supervisor the auxiliary midstream equipment. The maintenance supervisor utilizing Manager Plus will track maintenance and inventory for midstream assets.  The position will also be responsible for the development and implementation of a compressor mechanic training program. Responsibilities also include satisfying all safety, regulatory and environmental requirements with supporting documentation when required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Participate in discussions with the engineering team to ensure designs are operationally sound.
  2. Supervise the turn on of new compressor and dehydration equipment
  3. Manage preventative maintenance program at all compressors
  4. Code all invoices related to compressor stations
  5. Operate, diagnose, calibrate, and repair mechanical problems on engines including CAT G3606 & G3615 and compressor frames including Ariel JGT frames.
  6. Maintain and diagnose issues with station control systems and SCADA equipment.
  7. Develop a compressor mechanic training program to allow for the development of diesel mechanics to become compressor mechanics
  8. Submit accurate operating, maintenance and regulatory reports, logs, and other necessary administrative paperwork to Management.
  9. Maintains daily communications with Operations Manager concerning producing well status.  Adjusts the station operating conditions to account for temporary well shut-ins, weather issues or natural gas sales constraints.
  10. Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures including using PPE, Lock-out/Tag-out and Spill Reporting/Response per company requirements.
  11. Assist with scheduled and unscheduled equipment repairs and maintenance on compressors and process equipment.  Performs minor repairs on equipment, using hand tools and related work as required.
  12. Utilizing Manager Plus all required components to be ordered, placed in inventory and assigned to a specific compressor  once installed.
  13. Working with inventory clerk to extend the use of Manager Plus to all aspects of PGE operations to better track inventory and maintenance
  14.  Utilizing Manager Plus for all 3rd party services should involve an accurate work order to be generated to track costs as they occur. 
  15. This position will include being on call 24/7.

  3. Work conditions may include field conditions in and around hazards related to the natural gas industry, including extreme heat and cold temperatures, enclosed spaces and high noise levels.
  4. Work hours may include after hours and occasional weekend availability to respond to work related situations.
  5. Ability to lift up to 50#.

Qualification Requirements:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High school diploma required.  An Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical/trade school in mechanical, electronic or related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with compression, process and production equipment, electrical systems and pipelines is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a similar role within the natural gas industry, preferably with unconventional reservoirs.
  • Caterpillar and/or Ariel training is a plus.
  • Must be available for call outs after hours and on weekends.  (The compression facilities operate 24 hours per day / 7 days per week).
  • Basic to advanced computer skills and ability to be proficient using basic software programs designed to operate the compressor station logic.  Experience with basic office software including Word and Excel is required.
  • Good understanding and proponent of the company safety procedures and policies.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • An ability to communicate effectively to management both orally and in writing.
  • An ability to maintain a good working relationship with coworkers and staff.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
