Operations Midstream Supervisor   

Summary: The Operations Midstream Supervisor operates and maintains the pipeline infrastructure, meter stations and associated processing equipment at the compressor stations.  This position is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the station including gas processing, gas measurement and control systems along with working with the operations maintenance supervisor to ensure midstream assets are aligned.  Responsibilities also include satisfying all safety, regulatory and environmental requirements with supporting documentation when required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Participate in discussions with the engineering team to ensure designs are operationally sound.
  2. Supervise the turn on of new compressor and dehydration equipment
  3. Provide operational design and field supervision support to pipeline engineer for non-routine pipeline monitoring projects.
  4. Manage routine pigging operations
  5. Manage meter station operations and maintain contact with 3rd party pipeline contracts to ensure maintenance and chemical ordering is achieved
  6. Organize the ordering and testing of compressor and auxiliary equipment fluids
  7. Code invoices related to midstream assets  
  8. Manage midstream operations personnel, including time off, schedule and assignments
  9. Performs miscellaneous operating tasks such as blowing drips, emptying tanks, replacing filters, checking fluid levels, testing safety & control systems.
  10. Maintain and repair standard natural gas processing equipment including separators, dehydration towers, filters and gas measurement equipment.
  11. Maintain and diagnose issues with station control systems and SCADA equipment.
  12. Submit accurate operating, maintenance and regulatory reports, logs, and other necessary administrative paperwork to Management.
  13. Maintains daily communications with Operations Manager concerning producing well status.  Adjusts the station operating conditions to account for temporary well shut-ins, weather issues or natural gas sales constraints.
  14. Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures including using PPE, Lock-out/Tag-out and Spill Reporting/Response per company requirements.
  15. This position will include being on call 24/7.

  3. Work conditions may include field conditions in and around hazards related to the natural gas industry, including extreme heat and cold temperatures, enclosed spaces and high noise levels.
  4. Work hours may include after hours and occasional weekend availability to respond to work related situations.
  5. Ability to lift up to 50#.

Qualification Requirements:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High school diploma required.  An Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical/trade school in mechanical, electronic or related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with compression, process and production equipment, electrical systems and pipelines is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a similar role within the natural gas industry, preferably with unconventional reservoirs.
  • Caterpillar and/or Ariel training is a plus.
  • Must be available for call outs after hours and on weekends.  (This compression facilities operate 24 hours per day / 7 days per week).
  • Basic to advanced computer skills and ability to be proficient using basic software programs designed to operate the compressor station logic.  Experience with basic office software including Word and Excel is also required.
  • Good understanding and proponent of the company safety procedures and policies.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • An ability to communicate effectively to management both orally and in writing.
  • An ability to maintain a good working relationship with coworkers and staff.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
